Chad M. Kerksick earned a PhD in Exercise, Nutrition and Preventive Health from Baylor University in 2006 and holds a master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Memphis and a bachelor’s degree from Truman State University in Exercise Science. Dr. Kerksick is certified as a distinguished strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS*D) and personal trainer (NSCA-CPT*D) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is currently recognized as a fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition and American College of Sports Medicine. He serves as a Senior Associate Editor for J Strength Cond Res and Associate Editor for Strength Cond J and is also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation. Dr. Kerksick’s research interests continue to explore the interaction of exercise and nutrition on their ability to impact the health, performance and recovery of healthy, athletic, aged and clinical populations. He has published over 70 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, given over 100 research presentations, authored multiple chapters, and edited books on nutrient timing and sports nutrition needs for children and adolescent athletes. His house resembles a two-ring circus with this two young daughters, Camden and Emery, running around. He resides in Kirkwood, MO with his wife Adrien.
